Thank you for taking the time to visit Glencoe Middle School’s website. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Tisha Word-Howell. I am a former graduate of Glencoe High School. I was the assistant principal at Hokes Bluff Middle School for 4 years. I began my educational career as a Business Teacher and Assistant Principal with the Gadsden City School System. Before I began my career in education I worked with the Etowah County Sheriff’s Department, Alabama Department of Labor, and the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology with a focus in psychology from Auburn University. (WAR EAGLE) I am a certified business education teacher and have my master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I am blessed with a wonderful daughter named Carson. She is my outgoing, social butterfly who will be attending Jacksonville State University this fall. She constantly keeps me laughing and on my toes.
I am very fortunate to have your child attend Glencoe Middle School. As you probably know, GMS has a long history of academic excellence and academic integrity. This academic excellence is obtained through high educational/social expectations in a supporting/nurturing environment. As the principal, it is my duty to help your child achieve his/her academic goals. Your child will be provided a safe nurturing educational atmosphere while in our care. We are here to support you and your child and lovingly challenge students to be his/her best self.
I look forward to meeting you and having a wonderful 2018-2019 school year!!
Go Jackets,
Ms. Howell, Principal
